Answer to your questions
Can I take Nitrolingual Pumpspray with me when travelling to a warm country?
Yes, you can — with some precautions. According to the package leaflet for Nitrolingual Pumpspray 0.4 mg/dose sublingual spray (RVG 011482), the medicine should be stored below 25°C to maintain its stability and effectiveness.
However, the manufacturer has provided additional guidance: temporary transport and use in warmer conditions, such as carrying the spray in a handbag during a holiday, is acceptable if the following conditions are met:
- The spray is not exposed to direct heat or sunlight for extended periods, and
- The mean kinetic temperature (MKT) during transport does not exceed 30°C over a 60-day period, with short temperature peaks up to 40°C being tolerated.
For patients:
Short-term travel to a warm climate is not a problem as long as you store the spray carefully. For example, avoid leaving it in a hot car or in direct sunlight.
For pharmacists and prescribers:
After travel to a warm country, it is recommended to dispense a new spray to ensure continued product quality and effectiveness.

My doctor prescribed Hylan eye drops. I am going on holiday to a (very) warm country, how should I store Hylan?
Hylan can safely tolerate brief exposure to higher temperatures, such as those in warmer countries. It is perfectly fine to take Hylan with you on holiday. There is no need to store it in the refrigerator, but be sure to protect it from direct sunlight. Under no circumstances should Hylan be stored in the freezer. Wishing you a wonderful holiday!
