Pantriozyme / Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency
Pantriozyme capsules contain pancreatin, a combination of pancreatic enzymes including lipase, protease, and amylase. These enzymes are used when the pancreas is unable to produce them in sufficient quantities. This condition commonly occurs in cases of chronic pancreatitis and cystic fibrosis. The enzymes support digestion, particularly the breakdown of fats by lipase.
Pantriozyme capsules are manufactured in Germany by Nordmark Pharma GmbH, a company with extensive expertise in pancreatic enzyme production. From 2004 to 2016, Nordmark was also the manufacturer of the pancreatic enzyme product previously distributed by Tramedico in the Netherlands.
